Child Visa (Subclass 802 & 101)
The Child Visa (subclass 802 & 101) allows a parent to sponsor their child’s permanent residency in Australia. This visa is for children under the age of 18 and provides the opportunity for family reunification by enabling children to live permanently with their Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen parent.
The visa can be applied for based on the child’s location:
- Subclass 802 is for children who are already in Australia.
- Subclass 101 is for children who are living outside Australia.
In both cases, the child can stay in Australia permanently and enjoy the same rights and privileges as other residents.
