Key Eligibility Requirements for Subclass 187 Visa

As a skilled worker, you may be eligible for the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (Subclass 187) visa if you meet the following criteria:

You are actively and legally conducting business in regional Australia. Note that areas such as Gold Coast, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, and Melbourne are not considered eligible locations.

The role you are nominated for should be filled by a paid employee.

Your employer must be willing to offer you a full-time, skilled job in your profession for a minimum of 2 years. Additionally, the employer must pay you at or above the market salary rate for the role.

As the primary applicant and a skilled worker, you must abide by Australian workplace relations and immigration regulations during your employment.

Your employer must have a good reputation. The company should have a positive public image with no negative associations or issues related to the employer or people working for them.
